If you haven’t heard the term before, a demisexual is someone who does not experience sexual attraction to another until they have formed an either an emotional or intellectual connection with that person most often seen in romantic relationships.  The term demisexual comes from being part way between sexual and asexual.  However, demisexuals do not have an incomplete or partial version of their sexuality.

Demisexuality is often mistaken as an admirable choice rather than an innate orientation.  Demisexuals are not choosing to abstain; they simply lack sexual attraction until a close, emotional or intellectual relationship is formed.

How then does it work for a demisexual in the world of online dating? Our guest today Sarah shares her experiences as well as her why she made a major life decision to undergo a double mastectomy.

How has this choice affected intimacy? We’ll examine when and how to disclose potential physical surprises to sexual partners such as scarring, as well as how to respectfully tell a potential partner that you’re no longer interested in proceeding with sex.
Additional topics include masturbation, letting go of body image issues, and how to surrender to pleasure.
